This collection brings to life the fantastical world that Black and Brown girls had to create from scratch—a world shaped by imagination, creativity, and defiance of societal limits. My biggest inspiration is Bratz dolls, before they were tainted by sexualization and societal expectations. These dolls allowed me to explore possibilities I couldn’t in real life—whether it was cutting and dyeing Jasmine’s hair or seeing Jade excel at sports without being deemed "too masculine." They represented a space where I could challenge the rules set by others, rules rooted in fear and control, yet still crippling. These obstacles shaped my struggle to find myself creatively and sexually as I grew into adulthood.

This collection represents an adult version of that world—one that is healed and empowered, where Black girls are in full command of their bodies, their self-expression, and their narratives. It’s an exploration of my journey from childhood to womanhood, drawing inspiration from the media, toys, and strong Black and Brown women around me. At its core, it’s a celebration of the duality of personal style and personhood—how the young me still exists within the woman I’ve become. Through this collection, I honor the growth that helped shape who I am today while reconnecting with the girl I once was.
